Radiation Oncology Professional,
A
colleague of ours is preparing a speech to be given at the SROA Annual
Meeting this fall and needs your help!
Her talk entitled, "Quality Care Delivered", focuses on
quality performance within radiation oncology.
Benchmarking will become a more valuable tool in
the future and health insurance companies will begin to require outcome data
from healthcare facilities regarding services provided to determine who should
be the provider of choice. The
facilities with the data will reap the benefits with increased reimbursement.
The perception is
that in radiation oncology it is difficult to quantify our patient outcomes
and determine how successful we were with treatment delivery.
However, we can track our performance as it relates to our individual
departmental processes. As part
of the topic, she would like to know what quality initiatives are currently
being tracked in our respective departments.
This is where you can help! Please
take a few moments to complete the online survey at www.TMATech.com,
found on the right hand side of the home page, by March 15, 2004. She will
be happy to send you a copy of the survey results should you not be able to
attend the SROA meeting this fall. Thank
you again for completing the survey. Who
knows, you might be the winner of a new digital camera for participating!
ROPE DATABASE
The most exciting event for us this
past year has been the introduction of our Radiation Oncology Performance
Enhancement (ROPE) database. This ASP solution, accessed via any
workstation, laptop or PDA with internet access, can be used to track patient,
personnel and equipment QA. The report generation is the key to this
product, providing valuable data for JCAHO, ACR and ACRO accreditation, federal and
state inspections, as well as data that will empower staff to implement changes for quality improvement.
In the near future, accumulated data will be used for benchmarking technical
indicators in radiation oncology. If you would like a
demonstration, pricing or any other information about the ROPE, please
contact us via e-mail or phone (866-235-8402).
